Hello friends and family of room 78. 

Many important dates to note:

Next week we will having a dance residency!  Students will be performing on Friday, November 30 from 9:10 -9:25 am.  All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend. 

Our Christmas concert will be on December 12, at 6:30 pm.

I sent the December book orders home yesterday and marked them to be due on November 30.  This is to ensure that any books ordered for Christmas would arrive on time. 

Library continues to be on Wednesday so students should ensure they have brought back any books from home so that students can exchange them for new ones. 


Our leadership team has taken votes and we will be having a CRAZY hair day on December 5, and a movie and PJ day on December 21.

Hello friends and family of room 78! In class We have continued to build our understanding of addition and subtraction through games and word problems.   We are working with numbers below 20.   This week we were focusing on our feelings.   We have identified several different emotions and what we do when we experience them.   Students have been working on helping each other experience positive emotions and noticing when others are not having a great time.   We watched this video created by a former teacher at Cranston to explain emotions and our control over them.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bKuoH8CkFc During word work we continued to work with letter blends sh and ch.   Students have been learning some new poems featuring many sight words and several new words.   It is great to see their confidence growing when reading poems for the class. Hello friends and family of room 78!  Every Wednesday we will be having library exchange.  Students are allowed to take out 2 books, one for home and one for school.  We ask that they are returned back to school for the following week's book exchange.  Tomorrow will also be Fun Lunch so if you ordered, just send snacks to school.  If you want to order fun lunches, please check the Heathy Hunger section of the school web page.  Stuffy day will be on Thursday, students should bring only one stuffy and we suggest it is not the utmost favourite stuffy students own in case something should happen to it while at school.  Please ask your students what they have been writing about in their writing journals and what they have been doing in Math.
