Hello friends and family of room 78.   We had a very exciting week.   Students used the book “Snowmen at Night” as inspiration for both writing and art.   We will be showing our work at the assembly next Friday, January 25.   We have also been practicing a winter song to sing at the assembly.   In Science we have been learning about what animals do to prepare for winter.   We have learned about migration, hibernation, and adaptation.   It would be great to discuss these ideas with your children and let them share what they have learned.   We will be looking more into winter animals throughout the month.   Reminder to parents:   Please remember to tie back any long hair in the mornings as we do not want it to get caught in the gymnastic equipment.    Thanks for your understanding.   Next Friday, January 25, our class will be hosting the assembly.   It will begin at 9:30am.  All parents are welcome to attend.

Hello friends and family of room 78!   We have had a wonderful week back.   In gym we have started gymnastics.   We ask students to please tie back any long hair, not to wear jewelry to school, and wear pants that are comfortable and don’t need belts.   This is for student safety when learning new gymnastic skills in the gym. On January 25 our class will be working with Miss Hill’s and Miss Hardy’s class to put on an assembly.   We will be sharing some artwork, singing a song we have learned and possibly more.   The assembly will begin at 9:30am and all parents are welcome to attend. We will be going to Fort Calgary on February 28 to learn more about Calgary’s past.   We will need volunteers for this, it is a great experience for all!   Our bus will leave Cranston school at 8:40 am.  Let me know if you would like to volunteer. We will be going swimming from March 11- 15.   We are in need of volunteers every day (male volunteers are in short supply!).   Ou
