Hello friends and families of room 78.   Another month has passed and we are beginning our last month of school!   We have many exciting things happening this month, please see important dates below.   Students enjoyed Alien In-line skating throughout the month of May, everyone did a great job and tried their best.   Parents should be proud of all students.   Our caterpillars arrived in the classroom and are presently becoming chrysalis’.   It is amazing to see how quick they grow!   We will be looking forward to their metamorphosis! Hello friends and family of room 78! In class We have continued to build our understanding of addition and subtraction through games and word problems.   We are working with numbers below 20.   This week we were focusing on our feelings.   We have identified several different emotions and what we do when we experience them.   Students have been working on helping each other experience positive emotions and noticing when others are not having a great time.   We watched this video created by a former teacher at Cranston to explain emotions and our control over them.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bKuoH8CkFc During word work we continued to work with letter blends sh and ch.   Students have been learning some new poems featuring many sight words and several new words.   It is great to see their confidence growing when reading poems for the class.
